Our New President

I foresee a greening of our Land
If only circumstance will let it happen!
Our new President took his oath this day,
Such a fresh wind seems so close at hand…

It’s a bad state of affairs he’s inherited,
So much worse than when he began;
If he’d known then what’s known now
Would he have run or desired the office?

Yet somehow I do believe he would,
For man of Vision with good heart he seems!
Please let him not fail or be led astray
From the appointed star for which he’s set sail…

Mighty armada he’s become Admiral of –
Yet struggling in wild waters in need of a leader!
Remain calm with hands steadfast on the wheel
As we all lend a hand and become a better place
    don’t fail us Sir, and we’ll try not to let you down….
